Last week, a rogue tweet claimed Britney Spears would debut a new single in a performance on The X-Factor. Well, that announcement quickly got crushed as another false Twitter rumor. Producer Savan Kotecha says someone hacked his account when he “announced” that Brit’s new single would debut on the hit reality show.
Back on the Fourth of July, a tweet from @Savan_Kotecha said “I’ve got some news on #BritFactor! If I said a performance in September, would you hold it against me? (it’s a new song, don’t panic.)”
The tweet was quickly deleted, but that could have only meant the X-Factor bigwigs made him do it to keep the info from leaking. But of course, in Twitter you really can’t un-tweet anything!
Kotecha eventually told Perez Hilton that he never tweeted anything about Britney’s new single himself. That means the only possible explanation is a hacker broke into his account and sent the tweet, which sent our hopes for a new single skyrocketing and let them crash and burn all within a few days. Guess the dude needs a stronger password!
Just to be clear..i never once posted anything about Britney or the X factor. EIther someone hacked me or it was taken from a fake account!
