Now that Hurricane Sandy has subsided here at home and recovery efforts are in full force all down the eastern seaboard, amazing photos and videos are starting to pour in by the droves.

Perhaps no video better encapsulates the shear devastation that took place than this footage taken by the aviators of the New Jersey National Guard as they flew over Seaside Heights.

What was once a popular summer tourist destination is now a barren, desolate wasteland of destruction. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the people whose homes and businesses were affected by Hurricane Sandy.
