Nicki Minaj has released another song from her upcoming album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded- The Re-Up. The Young Money queen and American Idol judge dropped a link to “Freedom” on Twitter Sunday (November 5).
On the chest-beating track, Nicki details her rise from mixtape underdog to platinum superstar while coping with the pressures of fame. Nicki comes off as a bit perturbed over what she sees as a lack of respect from some of her critics and fellow artists.
“They’ll never thank me for opening doors / But they ain’t even thank Jesus when he died on the cross,” Nicki rhymes on the triumphant number, “’Cause your spirit is ungrateful, b****es is so hateful/ I remain a staple / My career’s been a pink print/ When I retire tell ‘em think pink/ Pink Friday is the imprint / And these b****es basic, instinct.”
