EDM superstar Deadmau5 is as well known for his outspoken and often controversial statements as he is for pristine progressive house dance floor jams. From taking Madonna to task for an alleged onstage drug reference at Miami’s Ultra Festival to calling out fellow electronic music acts for doing little more than just pressing play in live performance, the artist born Joel Zimmerman is never shy about venting his true and unedited feelings.
Zimmerman displayed a much softer side on Twitter recently, engaging with a young female fan that goes by the handle “Princess Sparkle-Wub” (AKA @lilmissskrillex). She was upset that a teacher wouldn’t allow her to sing the Deadmau5 song “Raise Your Weapon” at a school Festival of Lights show.

As of press time, there was yet to be a response from the now-infamous Deadmau5-denying teacher.
Deadmau5 lit up gossip pages recently after the very public end of his high-profile relationship with tattoo celebrity Kat Von D that played out on Twitter. Making the break-up even more awkward is the December issue of Inked magazine, which features the pair on the cover during happier times of their whirlwind romance.
While the break-up tweets have been deleted by both parties, gossip monger Perez Hilton was quick to point out that Kat Von D tweeted Deadmaus a romantic message today (November 14), hinting at a possible reconciliation.
Ah, young love.
