A total of 36 people have been reported injured after two Green Line trains bumped into each other at the Boylston MBTA station Thursday afternoon. The station was quickly evacuated and victims received treatment soon after the crash. The injuries are all minor, MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo told WBZ-TV (via CBS Boston).

The crash happened just before noon and the station re-opened around 2:30. Pesaturo says the “low-impact” crash occurred as an arriving trolley collided with another that was parked on the track. Witnesses, however, aren’t downplaying the incident and said people collectively “went violently in one direction.”

Based on witness accounts of the incident, and the relatively large amount of injured passengers, it is fortunate the injuries weren’t more severe. It’s not the first crash on the Green Line this year, either. Passengers should be justifiably wary of boarding a B, C, D, or E train at this point.
