UPDATE: The Fenway Park show, along with the rest of their “Legends of the Summer” tour, has officially been announced by Live Nation and will take place on August 10 at Fenway Park. Tickets go on sale February 28. Fans can also get early access to tickets via the tour’s Facebook page.
According to a report by the Boston Herald, the two will perform a joint concert at America’s oldest and most beloved ballpark sometime in August. They cite their “backstage spies” as sources, so nothing is confirmed just yet.
But there’s still plenty of evidence that could bring truth to the rumors. Rolling Stone reported last week that the two are planning a stadium tour, and multiple sources told the Baltimore Business Journal that they are set to play the Ravens’ M&T Bank Stadium.
Maybe that would mean the tour would come to Gillette Stadium rather than Fenway…But either way it appears Boston is getting an epic outdoor show with Jay-Z and J.T. Bringing in modern pop stars would be something of a departure for Fenway Park, which in recent years has hosted classic rock acts like Roger Waters, Bruce Springsteen and Aerosmith.
The two collaborated on Timberlake’s comeback single “Suit & Tie” and likely other tracks on his upcoming album The 20/20 Experience.
We will confirm the tour once it’s reported, but please note that this is still a rumor and nothing has been officially reported yet.
