Besides Mixfest and many other free events that happen around the city, Boston isn’t a big destination for summer music festivals. That is apparently changing as the inaugural Boston Calling Music Festival has been announced. Headlined by GRAMMY winners fun., the two-day weekend event takes place Memorial Day Weekend, May 25-26 at City Hall Plaza.
The lineup is also co-headlined by indie darlings The National and also includes Of Monsters And Men, Marina and the Diamonds, Young the Giant, and several more great performers. fun., who just took home the GRAMMY awards for Best New Artist and Song of the Year, should expect an epic crowd in the outdoor setting at City Hall.
Tickets for weekend passes go on sale Friday, and there will eventually be an option for single-day passes for those who can only make one of the days.
