This week’s Badass Chick is Bostonian Grace Brown, creator of Project Unbreakable. Project Unbreakable was created in October of 2011 as a way of bringing awareness to sexual assault.
The idea came to Grace when she had heard yet another sexual assault story from yet another friend; at that point, Grace had had enough. So, at 19, she began photographing survivors – both men and women – holding a poster with a quote from their attacker. She created a community where people could feel safe and feel less alone, and it has grown into a massive movement with more than 4,000 people from all over the world now submitting their own photos. It is an internationally-recognized project that has been featured in Time, CNN, Buzzfeed and countless other media outlets. Grace even travels from college to college spreading the message.
Grace is a total badass for standing up against sexual assault and standing up with its survivors. Rock on, Grace! Watch her video below. Fair warning, you should grab a tissue.[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YN_GQStLbM]
