This week’s Badass Chick is one of the coolest I’ve come across: Anna Palmer is a fashionista on a mission and has created an incredible way to give back with Fashion Project.
You know how you have nice clothes in your closet that you’re never going to wear again, but you don’t want to turn them into a thrift shop and get basically $1 for it? Well Anna and her friend Christine have solved that problem. Fashion Project collects your clothes and sells them online in their fashion boutique, and the money they make off of the items is donated to the charity of your choice.
What I love about Anna, besides her naturally philanthropic nature, is her determination to use her passion for good. Upon graduating Harvard Law, she had a job offer waiting for her in Chicago… but she refused to take the bar exam because she didn’t want to have a “fall back” plan. She wanted to get Fashion Project up and running, and she wanted to make it work. Make it work she did; since 2012, they have donated over half a million dollars across 36 countries… and they have no plans to stop any time soon.
YOU HAVE TO CHECK OUT THEIR WEB SITE RIGHT NOW AND START SHOPPING. I’m serious. They have everything from Zara to Prada, and it’s an incredible way to give back to your favorite charities and clean out (and replenish!!) your closet. Start shopping now; you could get a $40 Bloomingdale’s gift card. Or, learn how to donate your items! ENJOY!
