Loren’s Badass Chick of the Week: Lauren Eliopoulos

This week’s Badass Chick is Lauren Eliopoulos of Mansfield, creator of Hero Helpers of America, which provides emotional and monetary support to active military members, veterans and their families.

In August of 2013, Lauren was at her brother’s boot camp graduation and noticed how many military members were there without the support of their families because it was too expensive for the families to travel. She knew these military members need all the support they can get. So, Lauren decided to do something about it.

Just one month later, she started Hero Helpers of America and within one year, sent 6,000 cards and care packages to the troops. This past year, she gathered over 170,000 holiday cards to send to our troops in Afghanistan, most recently raised $30,000 which she is using to fund music therapy for veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

While Lauren was creating all of this, she realized her dream of working in PR/Marketing, so she started her own firm. And she has no plans to stop either venture. She has a huge fundraiser planned for August and is focusing her efforts on raising money for families to travel to see their loved ones deploy. She is so passionate about this cause that she freely gives out her cell number and gets on the phone with our men and women military members who need someone to talk to.

Lauren has an incredible heart and insane amount of passion, and that makes her a very Badass Chick!!
