This week’s Badass Chick is Julie Patel, one of the most adorable and dedicated teachers I’ve ever learned about.
Julie is a first grade teacher at Parker Elementary School in Quincy, MA. She was born to teach, and feels an immense responsibility while doing so. She calls herself a “big picture thinker” and operates that way in and out of her classroom. Julie believes that it’s imperative to provide children with all of the tools they need to be positive, upstanding and contributing members of society when they grow up. Because of that believe, Julie not only teaches her children the educational skills they need, but she spends a lot of her own money providing her students with material items they need, like shoes, supplies, etc.
Julie is such an outstanding teacher that she was recognized by Ellen Degeneres on her show and received a $25,000 scholarship from Wells Fargo for Parker Elementary so that it could improve the quality of life and education its students deserve. Julie goes above and beyond for her students and it’s VERY clear to see how passionate she is about her job and about giving back to the world as a whole, and that’s why she’s my Badass Chick!
