Impact: Britney Spears Returns to ‘Glory’

So far, we've heard "Make Me (featuring G-Eazy)," "Private Show," "Clumsy" and "Do You Wanna Come Over?"

After dominating radio and MTV for years, it would be understandable if Britney Spears entertained the idea of retiring from new music. After all, her Las Vegas show, Piece of Me is a huge success—it has been credited for bringing a younger crowd to Sin City—and her current discography gives her more than enough songs to choose from for a setlist.

But, clearly, she still has something to say. And, clearly, the fans are still eager to hear it. In the past few weeks, she’s released four new songs, “Make Me (featuring G-Eazy),” “Private Show,” “Clumsy” and “Do You Wanna Come Over?” all of which have been warmly welcomed by her fans.

And on Friday (August 26), her new album Glory, containing all four songs, will be released.

“I’m being more hands-on with this one,” she said in a recent interview. And given that her Piece of Me show has allowed her to get off of the album-tour-album-tour cycle, she didn’t have to rush to get this album out. “I would much rather have it be completely how I want it to be,” she said.

Perhaps her most important quote from that story was this: “It’s the best thing I’ve done in a long time. I’m proud of the work, and it’s very different; it’s not what you would think at all. But I’m not rushing anything. I just want it to be done right, so that my fans will truly appreciate it.”

And judging by how her fans have responded so far, it looks like the album may be a (cough) glorious return.
