The wait for new Lady Gaga material is almost over: This Friday (Sept. 9), her single “Perfect Illusion” featuring Mark Ronson and Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker is expected to debut. Eagle-eyed fans noticed the release date in the computer coding on Gaga’s website, reports NME. Gaga has not yet officially announced the release date of the single.
The renaissance artist has had a busy few years since the release of her third studio record Artpop, which came out November 6, 2013. Her duets album Cheek to Cheek with Tony Bennett triggered a series of joint media appearances that felt never-ending. She picked up a Golden Globe for her acting on American Horror Story: Hotel and earned an Oscar nomination for “Til It Happens to You,” her contribution to The Hunting Ground soundtrack. Along the way, Gaga also paid tribute to David Bowie and performed the national anthem at this year’s Super Bowl.
In addition to Ronson and Parker, Elton John lent support to Gaga’s forthcoming album. After three years away from the solo pop game, her “little monsters” will be pleased with a fall and winter rife with new Gaga music. It all starts this Friday…we believe.
UPDATE: Gaga tweeted this afternoon confirming that her new single will arrive this Friday.
