Kylie Jenner decided to expose herself both physically and emotionally in the latest issue of Complex magazine. “I want to try something new,” the model said in reference to going topless for the cover shoot.
Unlike her sister Kendall, who bares her breasts in sheer ensembles on the reg, Kylie required some privacy during her topless cover shoot, which she wore round nipple pasties for. The only man allowed on set was her boyfriend Tyga (yes they’re still together), who Kylie thanks for keeping her sane.
“At the end of the day I have to live with everything I do,” Kylie told Complex. “I’m just proud of myself for not going crazy. Tyga helped me with that a lot.” But their relationship hasn’t always been easy. “The first year we started hanging out, everyone around him told him not to be with me,” Kylie said. “I still get comments like, ‘Don’t be with him.’ But we’re not doing it for the public—we love each other. We need to be together at all times. We never get mad at each other, we just figure things out.”
On their temporary split, Jenner said “I just needed to see what it was like not being with him.” In the end, she said “we realized that wasn’t what we wanted.”
During her interview, Kylie also got candid about her lip injections, and how she handled coming clean. “It has been an insecurity of mine all my life,” she said about her lips. “This guy I kissed [in middle school] was like, ‘Your lips are really small but you’re a really good kisser. I didn’t think you were gonna be good at kissing,'” she remembered. “It was so rude. From then on, I just felt like I saw guys staring at my lips. I felt like no one wanted to kiss me.”

Kylie says that she lied about her injections for a reason, but in the end, she regrets not telling the truth. “I wasn’t even 17 yet,” she explained. “What if I came out and said, ‘Oh, yeah, I got my lips done’? What are all those moms going to think about me? These kids, my fans, they’re going to think I’m crazy. I didn’t want to be a bad influence. I didn’t want people to think you had to get your lips done to feel good about yourself. But they thought it was crazier that I was lying about it because it was so obvious. I wish I had just been honest and upfront.”
Well, she is now. And she even admits to going a little overboard with the injections at times. “When you first get them done, you’re like, ‘Oh, it could be a little bit bigger on that side.’ I’d go back and be like, ‘They went down’ and think they could be bigger. But I went too far. It was very painful.”
