Salma Hayek and Donald Trump have an interesting history. Last fall in the midst of Trump’s unlikely rise to power, Hayek claimed that Trump once asked her out and planted an unflattering #FakeNews story in the National Enquirer when she rebuffed his advances.
Now, Hayek has revealed the details about the creepy exchange between herself and the leader of the free world. The Beatriz at Dinner star shared the story with host Trevor Noah on the Daily Show.

While at an event with her boyfriend, Hayek felt a chill and rubbed her exposed arms to warm herself up when – suddenly – Trump leaned in from behind and placed his suit jacket over her shoulders. “I’m sorry, I saw your girlfriend was cold,” Trump said to Hayek’s date.
Hayek describes Trump’s initial mannerisms as “charming” and “super nice” before explaining where things took a turn to Creepyville. “He kept talking to my boyfriend, and then he befriended my boyfriend, invited him to dinner… and then he was like, ‘If you guys are in New York, you can come to Atlantic City, you can stay in my hotel! Give me your numbers.”
Then, in the least surprising twist of all time, Trump never called the boyfriend – constantly hitting up Hayek to ask her out one-on-one instead. “What about my boyfriend?” Hayek asked Trump. “Am I crazy? You know I have a boyfriend!”
“He’s not good enough for you,” Trump slurred back. “Not important. He’s not important. Not big enough for you. You have to go out with me.”
Nothing about this story is particularly shocking. Trump’s sleazy demeanor is well documented and, arguably, propelled him to the White House. Still, it’s a fascinating window into the mind of a man who doesn’t take no for an answer, and probably never will.
