Will Smith Joins Aladdin as the Genie
Will Smith has joined the cast of the live-action Aladdin remake. He’ll be playing the genie, of course originally made famous by Robin Williams. Actress Naomi Scott of the Power Rangers movie will be playing Jasmine and Mena Massoud of the Amazon series Jack Ryan will be playing Aladdin.

Star Wars Land: Name Revealed
Further details about Disney’s Star Wars Land came to light this week, like the official name, which is set to be Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.” It’s set to open first in Disneyland and later in Disney World, but both in 2019.
Chance Saves Sound Cloud
Just days after Sound Cloud laid off almost 40% of its staff and it was rumored to be shutting down in a matter of days, Chance the Rapper teamed up with Young Thug to release a song on Sound Cloud called Big Bs (you gotta look it up on your own; it’s a little NSFW so I can’t post here!). Chance said he had a great conversation with Sound Cloud’s CEO and said that it was “here to stay.” So we’ll see.
Bieber Gets a Ticket
Bummer for Justin Bieber – he was given a ticket for being on his phone while driving. Not sure if he was texting or talking but still, no-go. Police in LA spotted him and gave him a $162 ticket. Bieber was reportedly really calm and cooperative.
Mariah Carey Brings Dem Babies on Stage
Mariah Carey brought Dem Babies (her twins, Moroccan and Monroe – who are now 6) on stage with her while she was performing Always Be My Baby, the do do doo song, and it’s the cutest thing.
Ed Sheeran on GoT Premiere
The season 7 premiere of Game of Thrones aired last night on HBO – and Ed Sheeran’s cameo was included. He sang. Unfortunately, excited fans crashed HBO’s web site, so not only was the main page not working, but the streaming service HBO Now wasn’t working for some people as well. Angry subscribers naturally voiced their complaints on Twitter.
Carrie Fisher in Star Wars
Star Wars released a little inside look at the upcoming Last Jedi movie, and it left a lot of Star Wars fans in tears when the teaser showed a clip of Carrie Fisher explaining why the series is so important. The Last Jedi opens in theaters December 15th.
